摘要：The new study of the East Asian collection in American libraries was conducted by CEAL's Task Force on Library Resources and Access. Like the previous one (1974/75), this study also provides new data in many areas, such as the current status of resources, acquisitions, geographical distribution, technical processing, fiscal support, personnel, use patterns, services, and automation, as reported by 88 collections in the United States, three in Canada, and one in Latin America. However, since the coverage of the previous study was quite comprehensive and many areas did not have much change in the last five years, our brief analysis in this preliminary report puts more emphasis on those areas which have had significant changes.
