摘要：En la bibliografía sobre apoyo social y salud en personas mayores persiste un debate en torno al papel desempeñado por las dimensiones estructurales y funcionales del apoyo. La presente investigación (n=418) propone un modelo que enfatiza la diferenciación de las fuentes de apoyo y la reciprocidad en las relaciones de intercambio funcional en la explicación del deterioro de la salud. Los resultados obtenidos a partir del análisis de ecuaciones estructurales (structural equation modeling [sem]) muestran que la existencia de relaciones recíprocas se relaciona con la salud a través de la satisfacción con el apoyo y la existencia de un efecto de signo contrario en la salud del apoyo de los hijos y del cónyuge. En conclusión, se confi rma la importancia de diferenciar el papel de las distintas fuentes. Son necesarias investigaciones que ayuden a clarifi car las acciones/conductas concretas que convierten en adecuado el apoyo en función de su fuente.
其他摘要：Bibliography about the relationship between social support and health among the elderly is characterized by debate about the role played by functional and structural dimensions of support. Present research (n=418) pro-poses a model pointing the diff erentiation between sources of support and reciprocity as key aspects to account for health among the elderly. Results obtained through structural equation modeling (sem) highlight that the existence of reciprocal relations is associated to health through the satisfaction with social support and the existence of contrary health eff ects on family support. The importance of a proper diff erentiation of the role played by diff erent sources of support is confi rmed. Further research is needed to clarify the acts/behaviors, originating adequacy of support across its source.
