摘要：Este artigo consiste em um estudo das representações do islã, de árabes e muçulmanos veiculadas pela telenovela O Clone. Seu objetivo principal é verificar como a novela levou a cultura islâmica para a televisão na conjuntura do imediato pós 11 de setembro de 2001. Utilizando como fonte o discurso presente na telenovela, concluímos que O Clone funcionou como um instrumento didático para as audiências, oferecendo informações da religião islâmica em um momento em que essa tradição cultural era bastante estigmatizada. A novela ofereceu representações positivas oportunizando uma leitura mais humanizada do outro muçulmano.
其他摘要：Current paper studies the representations of Islam, Arabs and Muslims in the Brazilian soap-opera O clone. The investigation shows how the soap-opera brought Islamic culture to the TV screen within the aftermath of 9/11. The soap-opera´s discourse reveals that O clone was a didactic tool for the popular audience with information on Muslim religion at a time in which this cultural tradition was highly stigmatized. The soap-opera provided positive representations and gave one the opportunity to have a humanized interpretation of the Muslim other.
