摘要：O trabalho tem por ob jetivo discutir o aporte que a Engenharia do Conhecimento pode fornecer à Ciência da Informação, notadamente na organização da informação. Para isso, discorremos sobre as mudanças que acontece ram na Engenharia do Conhecimento com o advento da web - mais especificamente da web social – na qual a organização da informação passou a ser coletiva, fenômeno conhecido como folksonomia, recorrendo a literatura nacional e internacional sobre o assunto. O problema central do texto é a discussão s obre as contribuições da Engenharia do Conhecimento para aquela ciência. De maneira geral, essa discussão revela a preocupação de que os teóricos da Ciência da Informação não estejam se dedicando à delimitação de uso e pesquisa das ontologias de maneira a criar um consenso sobre o que a área entende por isto. Para estabelecer esta proposição, debatemos teoricamente os conceitos de informação e conhecimento, bem como as diferenças entre as diversas linguagens docume ntárias. C omo conclusão, indicamos ser a Engenharia do Conhecimento forte campo de pesquisa para reforço da prática do ciclo da informação que deve ser apropriada pela Ciência da Informação assim como foi com a classificação e os tesauros.
其他摘要：The paper aims to discuss the contribution that knowledge engineering can provide information science, especially in the organization of information. For this, we discus about the changes that occurred in the knowledge engineering with the advent of the web - specifically the social web - in which the organization of information has become collective, a phenomenon known as f olksonomy, researching in national and international literature on the subject . The central problem of the text is the discussion on the contributions of knowledge engineering for that science. Overall, this discussion reveal s concerns that the theoretica l information science are not devoting the delimitation of search and use of ontologies in order to create a consensus about what the area meant by this. To establish this proposition we theoretically discussed the concepts of information and knowledge as well as the differences between the various indexing languages. In conclusion, we indicated knowledge engineering field to be strong in research, to strengthen the practice of the information cycle that must be appropriated by information science as it was with the classification and thesauri.
