摘要：Este artigo busca contribuir para o campo de estudo voltado para o agente comunitário de saúde, recuperando uma pesquisa realizada na área da educação, que investigou o processo de trabalho de agentes comunitários, moradores das favelas, inseridos em programas públicos e também em ONG's, na zona norte do município do Rio de Janeiro. Entre os resultados do estudo destacam-se as determinações e características do processo de trabalho do agente comunitário de saúde, a partir de sua inserção na fronteira e como sujeito portador de experiências, redes de relações sociais e conhecimentos acumulados, ao longo de percursos diversos. Com este recorte, pretende-se ampliar a visão a respeito do papel desempenhado por esses agentes, de forma a favorecer um avanço no debate sobre as possibilidades e limites inscritos nas engrenagens de tais iniciativas.
其他摘要：This paper aims to contribute to the field of study of the community health agent in its relation to the education field. The study investigated the work process of community agents who live in shantytowns and work in public programs and also in Non-Governmental Organizations, in the north zone of the municipality of Rio de Janeiro. The main results of the study are the determinations and characteristics of the community health agents' work process, from their insertion in the boundary and as subjects who have experiences, social relation networks and accumulated knowledge. With such focus, the intention is to enlarge the view about the role played by the agents so as to allow an advance in the debate about the possibilities and limits of such initiatives.
