摘要：Patrick Manning , professor da Universidade de Pittsburgh, EUA, é um pesquisador consagrado e pioneiro no estudo da diáspora africana e dos fluxos migratórios globais na perspectiva da História Mundial. O professor Manning tem se destacado ao longo das últimas décadas na articulação de redes conti - nentais de pesquisadores interessados em explorar os potenciais da História Global, processo do qual resultou a criação da Network of Global and World History Organizations (NOGWHISTO), entidade afiliada ao Comitê Internacional das Ciências Históricas (CISH).
