摘要：In recent years, Russian universities, which have programs in economic sciences, are increasingly competing in the market of higher education. In order to establish the results of this competition, the article suggests a special academic ranking, designed to determine the effectiveness of research activities of Russian universities by calculating of their publications in leading economic journals of the country. It was performed the calculations and created the ranking for 2010-2012, including 100 universities of the country. Author identified 20 leading Russian universities, as well as strategy that helped the universities to get the competitive advantages in the research market. In paper there are ways of improving of the constructed ranking.
