摘要：The article describes the Georgian mountainous regions as the most special part of Svaneti. Unfortunately, Svaneti economic development is hampered, due to its unfavorable physical and geographical locational factors. Svaneti economic development highly depends on tourism sphere in this part of Georgia, herewith this region has all natural factors in order to be Georgia’s leading tourist city and accomplice development of international tourism in Georgia. The main idea of the article is to familiarize the public with the unique Svaneti tourism potential, which includes: - Consideration about Svaneti’s natural unique landscapes and possibilities of touristic development; - Display of Svaneti’s mineral sources and perspectives of health-resort thrift; - Historical-ethnographic peculiarities of this region and cultural tourism development; - Ideal conditions for alpinism. The authors notice that the developing of communication skills is very important too. The modernization of designated tourism directions (ecotourism, resort, cultural alpinism) will accomplice local population to improve the tourist services.
