摘要：The article studies biographical facts on Yegor Frantsevich Kankrin and contains an analysis of his activities in the office of Minister of Finance. Based on the archive, biographical and legislative sources, the article considers the system of measures taken by Kankrin in the financial, industrial, mining, wood industry and educational spheres. The authors studied his work at the Jewish (second) Committee as well as the drawbacks in his professional activities and the reasons behind them.
