摘要:Jiu Jitsu is a Japanese martial art, divided into weight categories. In this study, all athletes (n=5) had more than their weight category, day prior to competition, thus creating the need for strategies to reduce unsafe total body mass. The objective of this study was to evaluate the nutritional profile of these athletes and the importance of monitoring the professional nutritionist along with the trainer, thus periodized training and diet. The sample consisted of five male athletes, aged between 23 and 27 years, the Fight Fitness gym in the city of Campinas, was performed anthropometric and nutritional, as recommended by the Dietary Reference Intakes (DRIs) energy consumption is appropriate in relation to calories, the percentage is below carbohydrate, proteins and lipids is above adequate. Regarding micronutrients, the majority was higher than those recommended, only calcium is within the proper value, but the iodine and folic acid are recommended below. The water intake for these athletes is below the recommended. The conclusion is the need for a follow-up of professional nutritionist, along with the technical team, thereby developing a special diet for every moment of training and thus avoiding damage to health and performance of these athletes.
