摘要:Objective: The objective of this study was to evaluate changes in plasma osmolality after the practice of indoor cycling. Materials and Methods: The study included 11 volunteers, male, aged between 18 and 30 years, not practitioners of indoor cycling, apt to performing physical exercise. The volunteers were submited to practice indoor cycling, during 60 minutes and with intensity between 65 and 80% of maximum heart rate. Results: The results suggest that 60 minutes of exercise performed in the intensity between 65 and 80% of maximum heart rate is not sufficient to bring about significant changes in plasma osmolality. Discussion: The assessment of plasma osmolality despite being the most reliable method to assess hydration levels, appears to be the best method to assess acute changes in hydration levels and, therefore, it is believed that the changes in mass represent the body more effectively and efficiently in this case. Conclusion: We conclude with this study that the practice of indoor cycling with volume and intensity for 60 minutes between 65 and 80% of maximum heart rate , does not significantly alter plasma osmolality.
