  • 摘要:Objective: To evaluate the relationship of lipid profile and anthropometric indicators with different values of the ratio TG / HDL-C in patients with type 2 diabetes with and without lipid-lowering medication. Materials and Methods: Descriptive observational study with an analytical component, conducted with 85 diabetics of both sexes, aged 20 years, outpatients at the Hospital of the Federal University of Pernambuco (HC / UFPE). Results: Of the sample, 46 patients were using lipid-lowering medication and 39 did not use. Mean age was 61.6 ± 9.2 years, 57.6% of the sample of elderly, 78.8% females and according to BMI, 67.0% were overweight. Among the groups, there was no statistically significant difference in the lipid profile, anthropometric indicators and reason TG / HDL-c. However, all anthropometric indicators show themselves capable of identifying high values of the ratio TG / HDL-c. Discussion: Although it is recommended that dyslipidemia is treated aggressively, this goal is not always achieved. Thus, these individuals must be subjected to more effective preventive treatments not only by the medication but also the change of lifestyle. The literature also shows that the ETS is the best parameter to detect high ratio TG/HDL-c. Conclusion: A better control of lipid levels in these patients, through change of lifestyle. It is also suggested the use of indicators RCE, WC and BMI as instruments to detect possible changes in the ratio TG / HDL-c. Key words: Diabetes mellitus, lipid-lowering drugs, cardiovascular risk, dyslipidemia.
