摘要:Introduction: The ballet is a dance that requires a good beauty beyond the physical performance, delicacy and lightness, which can often lead practitioners to control their weight and body aesthetics enriched. It is a widely practiced sport among children and adolescents, mostly women, and therefore should be practiced responsibly, considering that adolescence is a time of great bodily transformations. The objective of this study was to evaluate the nutritional status of adolescents practicing classical ballet. Methods: Cross-sectional study with 32 dancers with a mean age of 12.87 years, with a minimum age of 10 and maximum of 18 years. Energy intake of macro and micronutrients were analyzed by averaging the usual daily diet and atypical. Body composition was assessed by calculating Body Mass Index (BMI) and body fat%. Results: The mean energy intake, carbohydrate, protein and lipids was 2232.97 Kcal, 50.53%, 14.88% and 33.09%, respectively. In relation to body fat%, 22 (68.75%) were adequate and 9 (28.12%) were over. The intake of micronutrients was in inadequate, particularly calcium, vitamin D and iron. Conclusion: It was noticed that most of the dancers found themselves eutrophic in relation to total body mass and body fat percentage, however, the intake of some nutrients found to be inadequate, being a factor alert for this population.
