摘要:The present study aimed to evaluate the nutritional status and physical activity (walking and running) in adults in the city of Coari, Amazonas. We evaluated 140 subjects of both sexes, between 18 and 60 years of age captured by convenience. Anthropometry was used for body weight, height, Body Mass Index, body fat percentage. We evaluated the physical activity, hydration and feeding frequency through interviews using a questionnaire. The walk was practiced by about 94% of the sample and running by 6%. The women practiced walking or running in five more days a week mostly, while the men up to 4 days (52,2% vs 52%; p-valor=0,025). Only 12.1% performed fluid replacement before, during and after walking or running. Most performed three meals per day (39,3%). The majority of respondents were overweight according to Body Mass Index (62,8%), or overweight (45%) and obesity (17,8%), higher frequency of obesity in males according to the percentage of body fat (44,0% vs 24,4% p-value = 0,015). More intervention strategies and improved practices of physical activity and eating habits are necessary in this population. Key words: Exercise. Obesity. Nutritional status.
