摘要:Objective: To correlate body composition with dietary intake and tendency for eating disorders in female athletes between 12 and 14 years of Paranaense Rhythmic Gymnastics Team. Methods: To evaluate the body fat percentage by skinfold, food intake by dietary recall and the tendency for eating disorders by EAT, BITE and BSQ tests. Results: The athletes did not achieve the minimum recommendation of fat percentage in this age group, and 81.8% reached the average value for the sport. The consumption of more than half of the sample reached the minimum recommendation of energy, protein and lipid, reaching less than half of the minimum carbohydrate, calcium and iron. Twenty seven point one percent of the athletes had some risks for anorexia and 72.7% were out of it. Sixty three point five percent of the group presented some risks for bulimia and 36.3% low risk. Sixty three point five percent have somebody dissatisfaction and 36.6% within the normal range. There was a low correlation between dietary intake and body fat percentage, tendency to develop anorexia in athletes with body fat and high dietary intake, risk of bulimia with body fat percentage above average, body dissatisfaction with body fat above average group, with body dissatisfaction and dietary intake below the average in the group. Conclusion: The athletes presented body fat percentage lower than recommended for their age, and the normal range for events sports, inadequate dietary intake, which can lead health problems, a bigger tendency to bulimia than anorexia and body dissatisfaction.
