摘要:Community development takes on the initiatives and wishes of those involved and concerned who would like to actively shape their environment and circumstances. A democratic process also known as community education emerges in connection with educational activities. The authors of Issue 19 of Magazin erwachsenenbildung.at journal (Meb) work out and discuss the concept and present a number of practical examples to describe how successful community development can be organized in adult education. The articles present and analyze traditional lines, historical and critical approaches, current topics and developments as well as the multifaceted and often heterogeneous practice, from cultural and neighbourhood projects to emancipatory teaching concepts to radio language courses by and for migrants in a regional context. At the end of the editorial, there is a background report by Lorenz Lassnigg on community education as one of the action lines of the National Life Long Learning Strategy (LLL:2020).
