摘要:In what way must practical experience and academic knowledge interact to generate professionalism in adult education? And what role does self-reflection competence in particular play in innovative teaching in adult education? This article aims to answer these questions against the backdrop of current approaches to the competence discussion, the professional discourse and the figure of the "reflective practitioner". This figure was developed by philosopher Donald A. Schön in the 1980s in order to shed light on the gap between professional knowledge and real-word practice. The author of this article supports the hypothesis that the self-reflection competence in particular supports adult educators in their dealing with and enabling change and in practising innovative teaching behaviour. The article concludes with an outlook on possible consequences for competence-oriented training and continuing education of adult educators.
