摘要：The field of a digital image processing has experienced dramatic growth and increasingly widespread and applicability in now days. Computer technology have kept pace with the rapid growth in volume of image data in these and other applications. Documentimage processing has become economical in many fields of research and in industrial and military applications. this article provides an various methods used for digital image processing. It has main three components preprocessing, feature extraction and classification. preprocessing includes image acqiuition, identification, layout analysis, feature extraction and classification. Classification is the main step in digital libraries and other document image analysis applications. Digital image processing is an area characterized by the need for extensive experimental work to establish the viability of proposed solutions to a given problem[3].
