摘要:Lupus is called the great mimic. Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is an immunologically mediated disorder that affects various organs of the body. SLE is a common collagen vascular disorder but bullous eruptions are seen in less than 5% of the patients with SLE. Although it affects the population over a wide age group, females in the range of 45-60 years are seen to have a higher incidence of the disease. Bullous systemic lupus erythematosus (BSLE) appears as vesicles or bullae with characteristic serous or haemorrhagic content distributed over the sun exposed and flexor surfaces of the body. Approximately 11.1% of the patients affected with SLE show the involvement of oral mucosa. Topical and intra-lesional corticosteroids have been tried with success in patients with BSLE but dapsone is the drug of choice. It found to be extremely effective in disease resolution with or without the use of other immunosuppressive drugs. Early detection and prompt treatment is essential to avoid the morbidity and psychological stress associated with scaring and pigmentation that are pathognomonic of the disease. We discuss here a case of bullous SLE in a 45 year old female patient with oral lesions along with literature review.
