摘要：The science fairs or science exhibitions, since that they were idealized, has been constituted an important pedagogical space for development of several abilities by students, that do not occur in the formal classroom. In October 2011, occurred the 1 st Ituiutaba Science and Technology Exhibition, an event extensionist of non-formal education for development of scientific culture, which aims to create a space where students and teachers present works performed in basic school, in a partnership for to create and enhance abilities in research. The aim of this paper is to describe the results obtained with this event, citing the potentialities, difficulties and achievements. The conclusion shows that the event reaches the goals for which was planned and indicate the consolidation and continuity in annual periodicity, establishing a change in the reality that similar events has been conducted in the city and the region.
