摘要:The subject of role stressors and its impact on performance has received limited empirical attention in the new product development field. Our study draws from previous literature on stress and new product development to examine the impact of one team stressor, role conflict, on job satisfaction and two dimensions of new product performance: adherence to budget and schedule and product quality. Additionally, we determine the impact of the product novelty on the relationships proposed. The results indicate that role conflict has a negative effect on job satisfaction. Regarding its effect on new product performance, findings suggest a negative association with adherence to budget-schedule, and an inverted U relationship with product quality. There is not effect of the product novelty on the relationships between conflict and new product performance.
