摘要:The purpose of this paper is to introduce a possible perspective to analyse academic introductions based on the moveanalysis theory proposed by Swales and Feak (1994). Our proposal includes the verb type notion by Lima (1985) in order to suggest a pedagogical model to help non-native learners. Thirty introductions from Biology published in A-graded journals are analysed. The syntaticsemantic occurences used to express Move 2 and Move 3 first sentences may be determined if the analysis starts by the establishement of the communicative purpose of Move 2.
