摘要：This paper acknowledges the area of image processing and the application of data compression in this field. In this paper we have analysis and studied the methods of image compression using discrete wavelet transform and proposed the new image compression technique suitable for the general quality images to get the desired results. We have studied and implemented the common pre-existing method ie jpeg2000 and finally compared them with the proposed method, on the base of some of the parameters i.e. PSNR and Compression ratio.
