其他摘要:Types and proportions of natural canopy accession strategies of Norway spruce reflect local changes in historical forest structure and dynamics. Through the detection of growth strategies, it is possible to identify historical events such as disturbances; the main drivers affecting primeval forests dynamics. Moreover, the effect of local thermal conditions plays a. role in the development and dynamics of the natural forest. Using dendrochronology, more than 3,000 cores sampled from canopy spruce trees were analyzed from the primeval mountain forests of Calimani and Giumalau, Romania. Three canopy accession strategies were detected: (1) the majority of trees (70%) accessed canopy through gap recruitment; (2) trees in the second growth strategy (21%) grew under the canopy until they underwent one 'release' episode; (3) the minority of trees (9%) were released with a. suppression period. The thermal conditions given by altitude and aspect play a.specific role in the natural dynamics of mountain spruce forests of Calimani and Giumalau. Nevertheless, disturbances are the main drivers affecting these ecosystems.
