摘要:The a im of this study wa s firstly to determine whether there is a corr elation betwee n the predictors of sc hool violenc e (school cultu re a nd sc hool c lima te ) a nd scho ol viole nce , and sec ondly to investig a te the influence of school-spec ific demogr aphic var ia bles on sa fe ty a t schools, school c ulture and school clima te , a nd school violence. Two research hypotheses ha ve been formula ted: (1) School culture and school climate can be used to explain school viole nce; (2 ) Significant differenc es in the a ver age counts for sc hool safe ty, sch ool culture, school climate and school violence occur between the following variables: gender, gra de and the size of the school. An ada pted California School Climate and Sa fety Survey – Short Form (CSCSS-SF), which has been utilised a s data collection instrument, wa s comple ted by 900 Gra de 10 -12 learner s. With the help of Pearson's produc t-moment corre la tion coefficient, it was determined tha t, the better the school c ulture and school c limate a t a school, the lower the levels of violence a t the school. The results of the MANO VA analysis indicate that there a re statistically significant diffe rences in the ave rage sc hool cu lture and school climate counts, as we ll as the c ount for school violence for a ll the biogra phic varia bles. Significa nt differ ences in mean scores for the two gende r s, diffe rent school sizes and grades for the CSCSS scales were determined with the help of unidirectional variance analyses. The results of this study a re confirmed by earlier resea rch findings. The article concludes with recomme ndations on how the r esults ca n be utilised to a ddress sc hool violence
