摘要:This stu dy sought to e xa mine the pedagogica l cha llenge s fac ed by Busine ss Studies tea chers in Botswa na 's junior seconda ry schools. Respondents' views were recorded using structured interviews. The resea rch revealed that Business Studies teachers in Botswa na were fa cing certa in challenges tha t c an be group ed into three main c ategorie s: (1 ) c hallenges rela ting to te aching the subje ct matter a nd c onstra ints in using e nt repreneu ria l pedagogies and inadequacy of fina ncia l resources); (2) challenges relating to the students themselves (students' lack of prior knowledge in the subject, scaffolding ta sks in mixed a bility classes, immatu rity of students in rela tion to subject content a nd misconceptions by students tha t the subject is difficult); and (3 ) challenges re lating to policy such as the inability to implement pedagogies prescribed in the sylla bus. These cha llenges should not be regarded as unique to Business Studies. Collectively, howeve r, they do bring to light some of the principles tha t could inform the de velopment of a distinctive peda gogy for Busine ss Studies
