摘要:T his study investigated the rela tionship between justice perceptions a nd job insecurity and how such rela tionship was affected by the perceptions of role clarity and work overloa d amongst survivors of downsizing in an economically volatile environment. The resea rch was conducted in selected public and private sector organisations in Zimbabwe. Using a qua ntitative research approa ch and a sa mple of 100 survivors, the results showed correlations amongst workers' perceptions a bout the rela tionship, on one hand, between ju stice and job insecurity and on the other ha nd, betwee n work ove rloa d and role cla rity. T he stu dy r evea led tha t sur vivor s of the orga nisa tions investiga ted in this study received trea tment that exposed them to job insecurity, which is synonymous to injustice. Expo sing wor ker s to this type of trea tment dur ing a nd after downsizing c re ated ne gative per ceptions a bout downsizing exercise and the attendant effect on workplace justice and job security in the volatile w ork environment.
