摘要:I n some labor sec tor s pre ca riousne ss, vulner ability and a busive be havior ha ve been a c onsta nt thr ou ghout e mployment history. T he circumsta nces and rea sons why this phenomenon persists a re so ma ny a nd var ied tha t these u nfa ir pra ctices often seem impermea ble to improvement a nd progress. Although gove rnme nts throughout the world are currently adopting regulations to improve the working conditions of household employment, this is still a w or king context cha ra cterised by conside ra ble informality in a ll cou ntr ies at differ e nt le vels of deve lopment. However, close a na lysis of what ha ppens in these working environments might help to hig hlight the fundamental underlying problems, point out specific areas of fea sible and effective improvement and work towards deve loping interna tiona l labor sta nda rds in this sector. With this a im, the pr esent work a na lyses a c orpus of interviews a nd meetings with domestic employers, inte rmedia rie s and employe es recorded in Spain. T he results bring to light some ke y communicative a nd la bor -r ela te d factors whic h lay down most precar ious a nd infor ma l situa tions affec ting these worke rs, such as unclear contra cts and contributions, nor maliz ed prec ariou sness a nd vulnerability, intercultural una wa reness and degrading stereotypes, confusion in roles and communicative registers, and psychologica l and ethical threads. The study will a lso point out that, a lthough the ne w legisla tion seeks to include impr oveme nts a cro ss the boa r d, its imple menta tion is br inging more heter ogene ity, inform ality a nd precar iousness for this grou p of worker s.
