摘要:This paper reports on how the University of Fort H are manages its aca demic development or support progra mmes a nd cur ric ula for the benefit of a ll students using a developme nta l approa ch. It expla ins how the university ha s structured a nd mana ged its quality-assured academic support programmes in an endeavou r to mitigate potential unemployability of its gra dua tes. Informed by its mission and vision, the university promulga ted strategic pla ns that a ddress ga ps in our knowledge of aca demic su pport progra mmes through quality a ssura nc e me asures aimed at improving aca demic a ccess, gradua te quality a nd employability potential. This ca se study adopted a mixed methodology. Using se condar y statistica l da ta ca ptu red from the a ca demic suppor t progra mmes on offe r, a nd pa rticipa tory e xpositor y obse rva tio n, the pa per show s h ow suc h pr ogr amm es p ote ntially im pac t on a cc e ss, graduate output rates, and perceived employability. Statistica l data were ana lysed using simple descriptive statistics plotted on fre quenc y ta bles a nd ba ck ed by na r ra tives from a k ey infor mant, a nd resea rc hers. The perc e ive d positive impact of the Fort Ha re aca demic support project ma kes a strong case for universities to su stain ca pacity building and sustainability if challenges of access, teaching and learning and student employability a re to be realised.
