摘要：H ealthcare systems implementation theorists reported that social responsibility issues are crucial for successful implementation. H ealthcare technology and electronic medical records (EMR) have changed the healthcare industry drastically over the last decade. T h is study investigated the factors affecting implementation of EMR systems and identified which social responsibility factors influenc e strategic healthcare technology implementation. A case study has been conducted and content analysis has been u sed to identify healthcare IT implementation factors and social responsibility factors. Data was collected through in - depth interviews involving two large departments ( Medical Records Department and Picture Archiving – Electronic X - ray Department) of a reg ional hospital in a state in the US . The hospital 's EMR system implementation process was found to be influenced by some of the traditional IT im plem entation factors as well as some social responsibility factors.
