摘要:Theories of task - technology fit have been used to evaluate the fit between different tasks and technologies in the IS context. These theories focus only on task types and technology characteristics as determinants of task - t echnology fit, which in turn impacts performance. Information quality, which is an important deliverable when som eone uses information technology for a task, has not been discussed as a possible determinant. In this study, we argue that given the importanc e of information and knowledge content in modern systems, information quality can contribute to the fit evaluation as another determinant of fit. We empirically tested a task technology fit model, applying a "fit as matching" perspective in the context of a simple task and communication technology. The results show that the addition of inform ation quality in the model increases the explanatory power for the fit and the ultimate dependent variable, performance. The findings point to the importance of informa tion quality in modern systems
