摘要:The purpose of this research is to analyze the relationship between prospective teachers' dysfunctional attitudes and their attitudes to the teaching profession. In this study, the "Dysfunctional Attitudes Scale", developed by Weissman and Beck (1978) and adapted into Turkish by .ahin and .ahin (1992) is used along with the "Attitude Scale of Teaching Profession" developed by üstüner (2006). The sample of the study comprises of 286 students from different departments of Mu.la S.tk. Ko.man University, Turkey. According to the findings, dysfunctional attitudes of prospective teachers differ according to gender and the dysfunctional attitude scores of male prospective teachers are higher than that of their female colleagues. Female prospective teachers' attitudes towards the teaching profession are more positive than that of male prospective teachers. Besides, the perfectionist attitude, which is a dysfunctional attitude and attitudes towards the teaching profession differ according to the class levels of the prospective teachers. Finally, the prospective teachers' attitudes towards the teaching profession are found to be at a high level, whilst their dysfunctional attitudes are at a moderate level. It is concluded that there is no significant relationship between these two variables.
