摘要：What is the place of the sto ryteller in postmo dernity. Starting with the descriptio n of the research conducted in Rest inga d ist rict in Porto Alegre (RS), the aim of this paper is t o analyze t he role o f the storyt eller in the present . More specifically, thro ugh the analysis of a video recording, we try to discuss ho w o ral narratives in our daily lives can co ntain aesthetic element s that make it interesting and could be addressed in the co nt ext of oral studies. What may be perceived is that , even thro ugh new languages and resources, telling stories is st ill a fundamental practice in any societ y; it is capable of establishing bonds, bu ilding collective ident it ies and reaffirming ident ity.
