Are nu merous the folklo ric reports abo ut the bridges bu ilt by t he Devil and many of them are fou nd around Portugal, each o ne with their respective tale. This art icle presents the main portuguese folk narratives related to the mo st lurid civil engineer of history and proposes a reflection about the meaning of the diabo lical figure in the field.
