摘要:Social comparison processes, that are inherent in sport competition, are researched according to the role of jealousy in sport: it is understood as a negative emotional reaction that is accompanied by thoughts of inadequacy when compared to others. This research has two purposes: to refine the Sport Jealousy Scale developed by Kamphoff et al., (2005) in Croatian population of athletes; to investigate the differences in the sport jealousy, between the athletes: from different sports, team/individual sports, male/female, from different levels of the competition, juniors/ seniors. Seventy three athletes competing at Croatian championships in different sports (football, bowling, volleyball and handball) were examined with Croatian version of Sport Jealousy Scale (SJS-II). Athletes indicated they experienced social comparison jealousy. We have found the differences in the jealousy at the athletes, with higher jealousy scores in: team sports, women, lower competition ranks, juniors. This study can provide a useful start for further research on jealousy in sport in Croatia
