摘要:The purpose of this research was exploring the effect of focus of attention in imagery on the static balance of young girls. The participants included 30 female students of Al-Zahra University, with average age of 23/65 ( ± 3/07). Based on the results of the VMIQ-2 questionnaire, all participants had powerful imagery ability and voluntarily underwent a pretest-posttest research design for randomly assigned groups. The participants were randomly placed in two groups of internal focus of attention in internal imagery and external focus of attention in external imagery. The Sway Index of the participants in pretest, was measured by the Stabilometer. Then, each participant was engaged in a one-minute imagery task, based on the guidelines of the relevant group; following that, the 30-seconds test of static balance was repeated. The two-way repeated measures analysis of variance was measured at p<0/05. According to the results, the main effect of the group on the balance was not significant, however the effect of test on the balance was significant. Furthermore, the study findings suggested that there is not a significant reciprocal effect between the test and the group. The outcomes also supported that the type of the imagery and the focus of attention do not influence the static balance of young girls
