摘要:Long buffering time and intermittent disruptions are caused by increasing traffic demands and time-varying link capacity over wireless networks which results in poor QoS in videos. Using Cloud technology we propose a model for efficient video streaming using a layered-approach namely Scalable Video Coding (SVC). By obtaining the transmission status of each client periodically, adaptive streaming is provided by the private agents in the clouds effectively. In this paper, we present the idea of scheduling the videos at the client side by providing users with their choice of scheduling mechanisms. Here we consider three mechanisms namely First Come First Serve (FCFS), Shortest Job First (SJF), Priority Scheduling and compare their throughput and performance.
