摘要：In March of 2006 I was invited to present a paper on my dissertation research at the first world gathering on arts education sponsored by the United Nations Education, Scientific and Cultural Organization [UNESCO] in Lisbon, Portugal. The conference was attended by delegates from over 100 nations and was intended to encourage countries that offer little or no arts education to see the value of the arts in schools, and to change their policies and practices.
