摘要：Introducción: las representaciones socioculturales permiten aproximarse a la forma en que las personas interpretan y representan sus saberes sobre los ideales de la salud sexual y reproductiva, como referentes estratégicos para la promoción y prevención en salud. Objetivo: interpretar las representaciones socioculturales de universitarios sobre el ideal de la salud sexual y reproductiva. Métodos: participaron dos grupos de universitarios hombres y mujeres de segundo semestre, uno de la facultad de salud pública (n= 225) y otro del resto de las facultades, seleccionado mediante muestreo aleatorio (n= 320). La información se organizó bajo el procedimiento de codificación abierta; se generó una categoría central mediante el método inductivo, conformada por subcategorías, argumentadas por unidades de análisis y sentido contenidas en los discursos. Resultados: hubo homogeneidad para las representaciones socioculturales e ideales sobre la salud sexual y reproductiva en los grupos. Es un bien preciado, un derecho que debe ser alcanzado y protegido, su logro depende de las actitudes, comportamientos humanos, de la promoción, prevención y de la información que se posea sobre la planificación familiar y prevención de infecciones de transmisión sexual. Mantiene componentes tradicionales aprendidos en la construcción social respecto al género. Se expresan en el contexto heterosexual, con alta valoración en cuanto al placer y la comunicación, proyectan una necesidad futura de búsqueda de estabilidad bajo el vínculo matrimonial. Conclusiones: los ideales movilizan una visión positiva de la sexualidad, en la que se requiere la transmisión de herramientas salubristas y la apropiación de otras habilidades para la vida.
其他摘要：Introduction: cultural representations can approach the way people interpret and represent their knowledge about the sexual and reproductive health ideals as strategic referents of promotion and health prevention. Objective: to interpret the cultural and social representations of university students on the sexual and reproductive health ideal. Methods: two groups of college men and women at the second semester participated; one group from the School of Public Health (n= 225) and the other from the rest of faculties, selected by random sampling (n= 320). The information was organized according to open coding procedure; the inductive method generated a central category made up of subcategories supported by units of analysis and meaning contained in speeches. Results: the sociocultural representations and ideals about sexual and reproductive health were homogeneous in both groups. It is a valuable asset for them, a right that must be attained and protected. Having sexual and reproductive health depends on human attitudes and behaviors, on promotion and prevention and on the information about family planning and the sexually transmitted infections. It keeps the traditional components learnt from the social construction about gender. They express in the heterosexual context, highly rated in terms of pleasure and communication; they project the future need for pursuit of stability under the marriage. Conclusions: the ideals mobilize a positive view of sexuality in which the transmission of health tools and the acquisition of other skills for life are required.
