摘要：The Catholic Church in Brazil between 1930 and 1940 was in the process of reorganization with the aim of reaffirming its position in Brazilian society. The aim was not only to promote the expansion of the Catholic faith, but also to stimulate the organization of active Catholics to strengthen the political influence of the Church. The response was the organization of militant lay Catholics that played an important role during the above period: the so-called Catholic Intellectuals who are the object of this paper.
