摘要：La relación entre la Generación del 98 y el Modernismo, como términos historiográficos, ha experimentado a lo largo del siglo XX diversas reevaluaciones. Fueron tratados como antagónicos por la historiografía española de la primera mitad del siglo XX. Críticos como el mismo Azorín, Pedro Salinas o Guillermo Díaz Plaja contribuyeron a apuntalar esta distinción. Sin embargo, desde la segunda mitad del siglo XX se viene trabajando en la interpretación de los textos de los escritores de la llamada Generación del 98, así como de los tradicionales modernistas españoles, como pertenecientes a las preocupaciones estéticas del fin de siglo. En este último sentido, se aprecia actualmente en mayor medida la contribución de los escritores arropados bajo el 'paraguas' tradicional de la Generación del 98 a los movimientos estéticos occidentales de finales del siglo XIX y comienzos del XX.
其他摘要：As historiographic terms, the relationship between Generation of 98 and Modernism has experienced several changes troughout the XX century. During the first half of the century these terms were treated as antagonistic by Spanish historiographers. Literary critics as Azorín himself, Pedro Salinas, or Guillermo Díaz Plaja contributed to establish this distinction. Nevertheless, since the second half of the XX century a Modernist interpretation of Generation of 98 texts has been advanced. Likewise, in the last decades of the century, Generation of 98 as well as Modernism have been incorporated to the aesthetic concerns of the Turn of the Century. With this term their contributions to the Western aesthetic tendencies of late XIX century and early XX century are better appreciated.
