摘要：Este artículo procura interpretar un segmento de la historia socio-política de la sección Noroccidental del Valle Central de Costa Rica desde el siglo XIX hasta el presente. En particular, trata de identificar, en una pequeña comunidad rural, los juegos por el poder tanto religioso como político y económico, producto de la construcción del Santuario de la Virgen del Pilar en Zaragoza (Palmares). En última instancia, se desea exponer la singular lucha de una localidad campesina frente al poder clerical en la búsqueda de su identidad social.
其他摘要：This article fosters the interpretation of a segment in the socio-political history of the Northwestern Section of the Central Valley in Costa Rica from the XIX century to the present. Particularly, it attempts to identify in a small rural community, the struggle for the power, not only religious but also political and economic as a result of the construction of the sanctuary of theVirgen del Pilar de Zaragoza (Palmares). Finally, it exposes the singular fight of a countryside location against the clerical power in the search of a social identity.
