摘要：Después de llevar a cabo una presentación del papel de la metodología prosopográfica en las nuevas tendencias historiográficas, surgidas de la crisis del paradigma de la Historia Social experimentadas a finales del siglo XX, el presente trabajo se propone como objetivo verificar los aportes que este nuevo enfoque metodológico puede realizar para entender las dinámicas socio-políticas de la elite política costarricense del período colonial. Deriva de ello conclusiones acerca del funcionamiento del aparato político de la monarquía española y de su estilo de gobierno en la provincia de Costa Rica.
其他摘要：Having made a general presentation of the role of prosopography as a research method, and the reasons why it has been recently adopted as a result of the crisis of the Social History paradigm at the end of the XXth century, the present work focuses on a verification of the potential results of the use of this methodology to understand the social and political fonctioning of the costarrican colonial elite of the period. As a conclusion, the work proposes a new interpretation of the role of the political structure of the spanish monarchy and of its style of government in the colonial province of Costa Rica.
