摘要：Este trabalho trata do processo de desenvolvimento de uma localidade rural do município de Canguçu/RS (Metade Sul) a partir da compreensão da complexidade do contexto das relações sociais às quais está integrada. As pessoas da localidade, na grande maioria, caracterizam-se pela miscigenação entre descendentes de portugueses, índios, negros e espanhóis, pela agricultura de base familiar e pelos estigmas atribuídos à origem étnica. O objetivo deste estudo foi analisar o processo de desenvolvimento dessa sociedade rural a partir da observação e compreensão do comportamento humano em interação no tempo e no espaço, procurando percebê-la como coletividade (sociedade local) em contínua relação com o ambiente, num processo aberto e interdependente. Para a sua realização utilizamos tanto a pesquisa bibliográfica e fontes secundárias como observações e entrevistas abertas em pesquisa de campo. Como resultado: a) a construção de identidades está relacionada com os diferenciais de poderes, qualificando ou desqualificando grupos sociais no imaginário social; b) a atribuição de estigmas a grupos sociais inferiorizados produz, na psique destes, mecanismos que impõem limites ao desenvolvimento social.
其他摘要：This work deals with the development process of an agricultural locality of the city of Canguçu/RS (South Half) from the understanding of the complexity of the context of the social relations which is integrated. The people of the locality, in the great majority, characterize themselves for the miscegenation between descendants of Portuguese, indians, blacks and Spaniard, for the agriculture of familiar base and the stigmata attributed to the ethnic origin. The objective of this study was to analyze the process of development of this agricultural society from the comment and understanding of the human behavior in interaction in the time and the space, looking for to perceive it as collective (local society) in continuous relation with the environment, in an open and interdependent process. For its accomplishment we in such a way use of the bibliographical research and secondary sources, as of comments and interviews opened in field research. As result: the construction of identities is related with the differentials of being able, characterizing or disqualifying social groups in imaginary the social one; b) the attribution of stigmata the subordinates social groups produces, in psique of these, mechanisms that impose limits to the social development.
