摘要：La investigación tuvo como propósito determinar las expectativas de los estudiantes próximos a egresar del Programa de Ingeniería de la Universidad del Zulia, Núcleo Costa Oriental del Lago con relación al trabajo, en virtud de que proveerá a las investigadoras de información útil para anticipar cómo asumirían éstos su rol profesional, tomando en cuenta que será la etapa a la que dedicarán el mayor tiempo de sus vidas productivas. Teóricamente se fundamenta en los aportes de Barriguete (1994), García y García (2000), Zácares y Llinares (2006) y Hellriegel y Slocum (2009), entre otros. La investigación es descriptiva con diseño no experimental, ex post facto, transeccional y de campo. La población la conformaron 97 estudiantes del último bienio correspondientes al primer y segundo período 2008, a quienes se les aplicó un cuestionario. Entre los resultados destacan: 85% se visualiza como un profesional exitoso, 100% logrará sus objetivos profesionales con alto desempeño, 59% piensa que no hay un empleo específico para ser reconocido como exitoso, 86% espera ejercer una vez graduado. Se concluye que las expectativas son positivas y que ello influirá en una mayor posibilidad de enfrentar exitosamente el reto laboral.
其他摘要：The investigation had as purpose to determine the expectations of senior students from the Engineering Program at the University of Zulia, East Coast of the Lake Campus in relation to work. This information will provide researchers useful information to anticipate how they would assume their professional roles, taking into account that this stage will be the one to which they will devote more time of their productive lives. Theoretically, the study is based on input from Barriguete (1994), Garcia and Garcia (2000), Zacarés and Llinares (2006), and Hellriegel and Slocum (2009), among others. The research is descriptive type with a no experimental, ex post facto, transactional and field design. The sample was composed by 97 students of the last biennium from the first and second period 2008, who answered a questionnaire. Among the findings: 85% viewed themselves as successful professionals, 100% will achieve their professional goals with high performance, 59% think there is not a specific job to be recognized as successful, 86% expect to work as engineer after graduation. It was conclude that the expectations are positive, and this will provide a greater chance to successfully face the challenge of working.
