摘要：Mucho se ha discutido sobre el decaimiento de la enseñanza de las humanidades y del poco peso que se les da a nivel institucional en los colegios de bachillerato y de paso en las universidades. Este artículo no pretende abordar y agotar todo el tema sino presentar un aporte a la reflexión necesaria sobre el tema desde el sentido y la función de las humanidades yla filosofía en el proceso formativo de los jóvenes de hoy. En este ejercicio no pretendo discutirsobre el supuesto desplazamiento quehan sufrido las humanidades al ser reemplazadas por otras asignaturas más de corte "práctico" o "exacto", como las matemáticas, por ejemplo, sino realzar la función de estas áreas en el papel esencial de la educación.
其他摘要：This paper is about the need for the humanities classes and of philosophy I don't want to discuss about what"humanities¿ is; or whether themathematics class includes humanities,neither to exhaust the whole topic.The principal aim is to approach to theimportance that humanities have in the basic education and in the formative process of today's young men and women. I do not try to compare the humanities with other topics recognized as more practical or concrete, but to identifythe role of these areas in the essential function of the education.
