摘要：his study aims to propose the construction of a synthetic indicator again to allow us to measure the progress in the objective of economic and social cohesion of the regions of Spain and Portugal, in the framework of the com-munity Regional Policy (CRP). We build a synthetic indicator of a multidimen-sional approach taking into account a large number of variables defined in the reports on economic cohesion and Social of the Union European, grouped according to the objectives of the Europe 2020 strategy to promote the smart, sustainable and inclusive growth. This indicator allows comparisons among the regions studied, on the basis of information provided by a set of variables. For this purpose, we use the Pena distance method for the year 2012, which is the latest year for which data is available.
