摘要：The article aims to argue that the global studies can be seen as a curious, global phenomenon itself. The author analyzes the term “global studies” and seeks to determine their distinct status within the social sciences. This is carried out by way of discussing the development and character of the studies of global problems. As a conclusion it is argued that the institutionalization of the global studies is linked to the wider transformations undergone by the social sciences.
