  • 摘要:This paper deals with partial discharge (PD) measurement in gas insulatedswitchgear (GIS) using spiral antenna as UHF external sensor. PD detection in UHFband is effective because it detects electromagnetic (EM) wave induced by PD withhigh S/N ratio. External sensor was used to detect leaked EM wave signals frominsulation spacer of GIS tank. The experiment was conducted in 66 kV GIS model withmetal type spacer. There is insulation window in the spacer. PD was generated by someartificial defects in GIS and an external PD source. The leaked EM wave propagatedthrough spacer aperture was measured using spiral type sensor without filter andamplifier. The peak to peak value (Vpp) and the transmission rate of electromagneticwave signals were evaluated. The PD patterns were observed. The results showed thatthe PD was detected by the spiral antenna. PD pattern was unique for each defect. Theseresults are considered to be useful for enhancement of database PD diagnosis
