摘要：The paper represents the Native Collection Essekiana, as one of the most important and most valuable collections of the library of Museum of Slavonia, Osijek. It is a native collection which stores various library material from the very beginnings of printing in Osijek, in which the history of Osijek is reflected, as well as it’s cultural, social, educational and literary development, it’s multiethnicity and language pluralism. When speaking of cultural historic and scientific value of Native Collection Essekiana, the paper presents printed matter from Osijek made during the 18th century, it’s antique, historic, literary and linguistic role, due to which these works are the subject of interest to numerous students, scientists, researchers, curators, etc, and this was also confirmed by the survey which was done by the librarians of the museum, within the time period from December 1, 2010 up to February 28, 2011. Today, the literary writings of Osijek’s printed matter are available through official network sites of the Museum.
